We were looking for some late might grub and had a hard time because all former 24-hour eateries like Zippys and Liliha Bakery close early nowadays. Heard about this 24-hour gem from the bartender at The Row, which was a few minutes away. Nice choice and interestingly busy in the wee hours of the morning. When you graveyard shift contractors standing in line, you know it's gotta be good. Just take a look at the menu. Couldn't narrow it down and had to have aunty taking orders to decide for me. And ALL of it was onolicious! FYI, Fridays are Prime Rib day. I'm just saying you might want to do that and the small tail lobster one weekend. Everything we had was good and hearty. I'm glad this drive-in exists in this part of town for late night, breakfast, and all around the clock munchies! šš¤āļø
A great 24/7 spot with decently fast food and arguably great prices. They've got a pretty big menu from local style breakfast items under $10 to Hawaiian classic dishes to the upscale menu. The garlic 8oz steak and shrimp combo was super satisfying and filling with plenty of protein and flavor. The crusted ahi and ahi katsu roll were also super good!
Food is #1! And because it's open for late night, it's a major plus. Anytime of day, this place is great eating. The counter staff are short with answers & not usually helpful with suggestions. 1 young man was there for a while & seemed to know the owner - he was great with suggestions. But that was over a year ago & the staff is different now. But the menu is awesome. And the quality of the food is up there. We get food there all the time. Don't plan on eating there though. Sketchy people hang out around that area & there are only a couple tables outside. Would be nice if they could some day open their indoor eating space.
Went at 2am hungry for steak, got the Garlic New York Strip plate. I inhaled that plate so fast, I was sad to see it go. I donāt know about the other foods on the menu but the Garlic NY strip I highly recommend! 10/10 craving satisfied šš½
Had their furikake salmon with asparagus plate - it was simply delicious and cooked perfectly! Their kalua pork plate is also great. It's definitely worth every penny. Their food is reasonably priced, too. The staff aren't very friendly but provide really good fast service otherwise, so can't complain. I agree with another review that there are a lot of sketchy characters around, especially with the bars close by, but it's not the fault of the restaurant. 4.5/5 stars - would eat here again.
Amazing food! Definitely worth a try for authentic islander eats. One of the best places we found on Oahu. The place does not look pretty, but the locals definitely eat here. It was busy both times we ate here. Yes, we went back a second time. I think that speaks for itself.
